conflicts

One conflict is that Meg and Charles Wallace’s father has been abducted and is trapped in a different planet. To solve this, Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin. The Dark Thing had stolen him when they were trying out tessering. Mr. Murry, also known as the father of Meg and Charles Wallace was tessered to Camozotz. It is a brain and Control freak. IT had already brain washed all of those who lived in the world of Camozotz. Mrs. Which, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Whatsit all try really hard to get the three of them there. The three Mrs. W’s could not appear in that world. So, the three other have to go to the head quarters of Camozotz. But, this leads to an other conflict. I will now begin to describe conflict number two right now.
The second conflict in the book A Wrinkle In Time is that after saving their father, Charles Wallace had been brainwashed. He looks really special. Like retarded special, not the good special. When they get tessered to a world with no light. The planet is not controlled by IT though. A kind Beast named Aunt Beast helps them recuperate from the tessering that Mr. Murry did. He is inexperienced in tessering and exhausts everyone who took the trip. The only way that Charles Wallace can be un-brainwashed is if IT dies. IT then dies because Meg kills IT. Then Charles Wallace returns to the same old Charles Wallace.
The third conflict is when the three kids are transported to a pit stop at a two dimensional world. In that world, Meg is being crushed into a two Dimensional shape. The book does not tell if Calvin or Charles Wallace is experiencing the same thing. But, this painful and unimaginable occurrence is solved when the three Mrs.W’s tesser the other three out of there. That is an easily solved conflict.

letter to character

Dear, Charles
I think that it is very interesting that you are very young and that you can speak fluently. It is interesting that you are taking care of Meg. It is unbelievable that you can be so mature at a young age. I think that what you are experiencing is very troublesome. You have too much confidence in yourself, you have to much pride. That is bad; you can get yourself in a lot of trouble for so much pride. Pride is a sin because in will always lead to conflict. You also get to travel faster than light. You even get to travel to other planets. Your worst experience must be getting brain washed. For one, that must hurt to be brain washed. You probably do not know what had happened. You have been saved, so you should thank Meg and Calvin. i would try to help you when you have to do hard tasks.. I would help you when you would be in the two dimensional world. It must be very painful to be flattened. Also, I would tell you that your pride will be your downfall. You should not battle at It’s game. IT will win IT was made for beating people and conquering their minds. I guess if I punched you until you are temporarily blind you. Then, I would chain you to Meg. She would not let you go to it. If you were chained to Meg like a Senesce twin, you would not be held captive like your father. I would also supply you with remote explosives. You could blow up IT. Then you would go home way faster and you father would be saved. I guess that nothing happens for no reason. The universe is all powerful and conservative. Make sure all things you do is because you want to, not because you must.

Setting

The first scene I would describe is a small planet used as a pit stop. The world was a 2D word that was all white. The three Mrs. Ws love that planet, but people were never meant to be flattened into 2 dimensional shapes. This process is related to a steam roller flattening you. The six of them leave to a mare three dimensional world. The planet is not mentioned very well. All that is mentioned is that it is two dimensional and no three dimensional being can live there. Any three dimensional being will be flattened into a two dimensional figure.

The second place referred to in the other scene is a lush, beautiful forest world. The world has lakes with no pollution. The mountains are streching to the skies. The peaks of many mountains are covered with clouds. There are many wild animals there. It is all beautiful and would seem with no worries. That place to is in danger of being destroyed by the Dark Thing. This planets role is to see through the higher atmosphere and see the Dark Thing. It moves toward other stars. One explodes with light and then the darkness has vanished. The other stars were sad though. A star had died to save all the others.
The last place that I will describe is the capital of the planet Camozotz, called Camozotz. In the entire planet, all homes are exactly the same. All people do the exact same thing all at the exact same time. The world is controlled by IT.

Madeleine L'engle

Madeleine was born on November 29th, 1918, and spent her adult years in New York City. Instead of her school work, she found that she would much rather be writing stories, poems and journals for herself, which was reflected in her grades (not the best). However, she did not give up on her writing. At age 12, she moved to the French Alps with her parents and went to an English boarding school where, thankfully, her passion for writing continued to grow. She did well during her high school years back in the United States at Ashley Hall in Charleston, South Carolina, vacationing with her mother in a rambling old beach cottage on a beautiful part of Florida Beach.

She went to Smith College and studied English with some wonderful teachers as she read the classics and continued her own creative writing. She graduated with honors and moved into a Greenwich Village apartment in New York. She worked in the theater, where Equity union pay and a flexible schedule afforded her the time to write. She published her first two novels during these years. they were titled A Small Rain and Ilsa before meeting Hugh Franklin, her future husband, when she was an understudy in Anton Chekov's The Cherry Orchard. They married during The Joyous Season. She had a baby girl and kept on writing, eventually moving to Connecticut to raise the family away from the city in a small dairy farm village with more cows than people. They bought a dead general store, and brought it to life for 9 years. They moved back to the city with three children, and Hugh revitalized his professional acting career. The family has kept the country house, Crosswicks, and continues to spend summers there.

Wrinkle In Time

In the book A Wrinkle in time, the three main characters, Meg, her brother Charles Wallace, and a friend named Calvin go with three other strange beings go to literally the ends of the universe to stop an evil force and save Meg and Charles Wallace’s father, who are the same person because they are related. Meg and Calvin are in high school, and Charles Wallace will be attending pre-K soon. This story begins in a large and extremely old house. Meg arrives from school. She does not like school. At school even the teachers talk about her. Teachers say that how could two smart scientists have a dumb daughter. They also were talking about Sandy and Denis, who are twins who are siblings of Meg and Calvin, they had said that they act and talk normally like the other kids so they say they are normal. Calvin they say is really smart and Meg is really thick headed.
The adventure begins when Meg, Charles Wallace, and Meg/Charles’s mother are visited by a “tramp”. The tramp had stolen pillows and bed sheets from a very wealthy home owner nearby. The tramp asks for a sandwich, which Charles Wallace was making for Meg, and their mother. After eating the tramp, whose name is Mrs. Whatsit tells Meg and Charles Wallace’s mother that a terrseract does exist. Mother is struck with a mixture of fear, surprise, and worry. The next day, after school ends, Meg and Charles Wallace go looking for Mrs. Whatsit. They find her cabin and also find Calvin, a friend of Megs. Charles Wallace considers himself and Calvin to have a connection. At Mrs. Whatsit’s cabin, Mrs. Whatsit tells the children what is happening. Mrs. Whatsit’s friends Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which appear from air and tell the three kids that Meg and Charles Wallace’s father is being held captive by the center of the disruption.
The three are taken to an other world by tesseract. The three ask what a tesseract is. Meg and Charles Wallace’s mother would not give them an answer. The three Mrs. Ws tell them it is a distortion of the fifth dimension. Calvin and Charles Wallace understand. Meg is still confused, so Charles and Calvin try to explain further. They ask her for the first dimension. She replies, a straight line. The second dimension is the first dimension squared. The second dimension is a flat shape. That squared is a three dimensional figure. Charles then said that the fourth dimension can not be multiplied like the other three. “Call the fourth dimension Time” said Charles Wallace. The three Mrs. Ws then say that the fifth dimension is the tesseract. They also describe a tesseract as an immediate travel. Light speed, however fast it is traveling in only one line. A tesseract is the bending of the fabrics that make up space and time. They say that with a visual. An ant travels from one side of a string to the other. However fast it goes it would be faster to just bend the string so the ends touch. A tesseract is proof that there is only one way from one point to an other.
At the planet, they gather flowers and fly up in the sky past all of the clouds. There they all see the dark thing. It really is a dark thing. Stars are not visible through it. They then see a shining light about to be devoured by the dark thing. The light grows to a blinding ray that vaporizes the darkness. The Mrs. Ws tell what had happened. They tell them that the light was the death of a star. A star had given up its life to damage the darkness. They then tell them that they are stars too.
After that they all tesser to Camozotz. The planet that has IT. IT is the center of the Dark Thing. The planet also has Meg/Charles’s father. By the country side all of the homes and yards are exactly the same children are playing with a red rubber ball and one drops a ball. The mothers call each child home. Charles picks up the ball and returns the ball. The Mother is filed with fear and says that they NEVER drop balls. Later on, they reach the CENTRAL-Center home of It. They go in and eventually IT gains control of Charles. Charles’s father tesser them away and they return to free Chaarles and Destroy IT.
